TOTALogistix Celebrates Fifteen Years of Industry Leadership

      

Sparta, N.J.  October 13, 2006

     

Reaching our 15th anniversary is a great achievement for us, said Scott Shearer, founder and CEO of TOTALogistix. While we’re extremely proud to say we still have our first client, Tingley Rubber, a major contributor to our success has been predicting the changes in our industry and understanding what services and expertise our clients need from us to be competitive.

     

The Council of Supply Chain Management Professionals (CSCMP) estimates the supply chain industry to be approximately $1.7 trillion. Logistics costs have risen 50 percent in the last decade alone. With such explosive growth, you might think it’s easy for a supply chain management consulting company to just ride the crest of the wave to success.

     

Two factors have enabled us to take a leadership position in our industry. First, we assemble the best team by hiring talented people who possess a diverse skill set. Second, recognize and reward people for their achievements and contributions, said Shearer. Since our inception in 1991, the industry has evolved into a white collar business, with supply chain management becoming an integral part of our client’s overall business strategy, said Shearer. To continue to add value, we’ve hired the brightest people we could find, including recent grads with MBA’s in supply chain management and information technology.

     

But in the end, it’s still people working with people, commented Shearer. Since we look to develop long-term relationships with our clients, it is critical that TOTALogistix is the type of company that our clients want to partner with choosing the right partner matters. In fact, we’ve recently launched our own recognition program we call Ichiban. Ichiban makes client satisfaction our number one project here at TOTALogistix, stated Shearer.

     

Over the past fifteen years, TOTALogistix has grown to include divisions for client support services, freight management, supply chain solutions, marketing, human resources, sales and information systems. Clients range from small to mid-size manufacturers/distributors to Hitachi, the 22nd largest corporation worldwide.

     

We currently have the strongest team we’ve ever put together, noted Shearer. You can tell by the amount of new clients and the smiles in the office. Somehow, the two are directly related.
